Applicants must be between 18 and 30 (some countries extend to 35). Must hold a passport from an eligible country (e.g., UK, Canada, Germany, Japan, etc.), meet health and character requirements, have sufficient funds, and apply from outside Australia.

UK arrangement:
From 1 July 2024, UK passport holders aged 18–35 may receive up to three WHV 417 visas without needing specified work.
